Private Decision-Making Leaders
Sharing AX Insights by Sector

The 'CAIO Forum,' which will design the artificial intelligence (AI) leadership of the Republic of Korea, has launched. It presents a 'Korean-standard CAIO leadership model' through solidarity among corporate chief AI officers by industry--including government ministries, public institutions, finance, telecommunications, manufacturing, distribution, energy, healthcare, biotechnology, and information technology (IT).
The Electronic Times held the launch ceremony of the 'CAIO Forum' on the 21st at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas Hotel in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and shared this direction with the attendees.
The CAIO Forum, which launched on this day hosted and organized by The Electronic Times, aims for a 'small but strong community' where leaders with actual AI-related decision-making power in the public and private sectors deeply discuss and share experiences and concerns. It plans to discuss tasks to accelerate the AI transformation (AX) by sector, share AX application cases, and derive practical methodologies that can minimize trial and error.
The goal is to establish itself as the representative networking platform that South Korea's AI decision-makers think of first.
Cha Ji-ho, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea (and executive secretary of the National Assembly Committee for Attracting the Global AI Hub) who took charge of the keynote presentation at the launch ceremony, said, “I hope the CAIO Forum hosted by The Electronic Times will become an organization that leads society as a whole by asking questions that did not exist in Korea before and finding answers so that our country can lead the global AI market.”
Furthermore, Cha mentioned the role of the forum, saying, “The topics discussed at the CAIO Forum must cover major global agendas, rather than being discussions exclusive to Korea.”

In particular, under circumstances where major global AI companies are entering the domestic market and Korea's status is rising globally, he requested that a discourse capable of leading the global AI ecosystem from a macroscopic perspective should be prepared through the CAIO Forum.
In addition, prior to the official government announcement on the afternoon of this day, he delivered surprise news to the forum participants regarding the progress of the South Korea-led 'Global AI Hub.'
“A global AI hub will be created in Korea,” Cha said. “We have signed agreements with nine organizations under the United Nations, and multilateral development banks also visited Seoul.” He added, “An alliance between the international community and international organizations has signed an agreement to build a campus in Korea.”
Subsequently, Ji Yong-goo, co-CEO (president) of Douzone Bizon, and Hong Sang-won, country manager of ElevenLabs Korea, made presentations under the themes of 'Changes in the Way of Working in the AX Era' and 'The Voice AI Era Opened by ElevenLabs,' respectively.
Ji urged the application of AI starting from areas that can be automated and autonomous right now, stating that AI should be used as a 'multiplier effect' for innovating individual, organizational, and customer experiences. Hong suggested the utilization of 'voice AI' as a way for companies to strengthen touchpoints with customers and increase the frequency of communication.
The CAIO Forum plans to promote gradual and cautious expansion in a direction that strengthens domestic AI leadership. Along with holding regular quarterly forums, it is planning the 'CAIO Summit,' a conference for chief AI officers, in coming September.
Kang Byung-jun, CEO of The Electronic Times, stated, “We will design and share a 'Korean-standard CAIO leadership model' that fits the reality of Korea together,” adding, “We will actively support it to become a practical place of learning that reduces each other's trial and error by sharing the AX cases and insights of each organization without addition or subtraction.”
