Kakao supports the PC version of 'ChatGPT for Kakao.' The company has also strengthened the chatroom message summary function to help users grasp accumulated messages.
Kakao announced on the 15th that it carried out the 6th regular update of KakaoTalk containing these details.
With this update, Kakao expanded the scope of using ChatGPT for Kakao to the PC version of KakaoTalk. Users can continue the conversation flow they were using on mobile on PC as well. The corresponding function can be used at 'ChatGPT' at the top of the chat tab.
A function to recreate photos exchanged in a chatroom into 'ChatGPT Image 2.0' was also added. After selecting an image in a chatroom, pressing 'Make with AI' at the top right allows users to apply image templates such as 'Anime Style' and 'Colored Pencil Drawing.' Even without saving photos separately, images shared during a conversation can be changed into forms such as cartoons and illustrations. This function can also be used on the screen for registering a new post on My Profile.
Kakao added a chatroom message summary function so that users can quickly grasp accumulated messages. Pressing the 'Summarize Conversation' button in an individual chatroom organizes and shows the core content of accumulated messages. Users can check the main content and participate in the conversation even in a chatroom they have entered after a long time.
A chatbot beta function was applied to Open Chat. When a room manager selects and invites a chatbot to be used in an open chatroom, users can ask the chatbot questions about information such as weather and stock quotes without leaving the chatroom.
A function that allows deleting a message within 24 hours after sending a chat was added to KakaoTalk Channels. New functions included in this update are applied from KakaoTalk version v26.6.0 or higher.
A Kakao official said, “We expanded the user experience so that users can easily and conveniently utilize AI within KakaoTalk's conversation environment,” adding, “Moving forward, we will continue to advance the service based on user opinions so that communication in daily life and AI experiences connect naturally.”
