Naver Clip, celebrating its third anniversary since its official launch, has grown into a major service with an average of 12 million daily users. The platform is expanding its content ecosystem by consistently recruiting 10,000 to 20,000 creators and welcoming a growing number of renowned creators. Naver plans to develop Clip into an integrated video and review platform covering both short-form and long-form content.
According to Naver on the 17th, the average daily active users (DAU) of the short-form service Clip exceeded 12 million last month, following its growth past 11 million in June.

Other metrics also rose. As of last month, the average daily views surged 2x compared to the same period last year. Monthly production, including videos and posts, increased approximately 2.6x. Engagement time grew by 65.2%. Compared to August 2023, monthly production based on videos and posts jumped 17.3x, while the cumulative number of creators soared 20.3x.
A Naver representative stated, “Monthly production has set new monthly records for four consecutive months,” adding, “The growth has become more pronounced since the launch of Clip Profiles in August last year, which added new post formats.”
Naver Clip is a short-form and review service launched in August 2023. It is exposed across various services, including the Naver app's home feed, Clip tab, search, and Place reviews. Initially focused on short-form content, it expanded to include review content starting last year.
The creator ecosystem is also expanding. Until last year, official creators were recruited biannually, but this year, the system transitioned to a permanent operation with 10,000-20,000 creators. Following creators like Jimuvi, SamProTV, and Cheongdam Unnie, Itseop recently joined last month. This month, Naver introduced “Channel Search,” which aggregates channel information and content for select Clip creator channels, further supporting creators.
Naver plans to expand Clip in the second half of this year into an integrated video and review platform, supporting not only short-form and review content but also long-form videos.
Ahead of Naver TV's service termination on the 30th of next month, the platform has been updated to allow uploads of long-form videos up to 7 hours—previously limited to 3 minutes. This expansion marks a significant operational improvement. However, long-form videos can only be uploaded via PC/web, while mobile still supports content up to 3 minutes.
Support for Clip creators is also expanding. Within the year, Clip creators will be added to the creator support program “Naver Mate.” Plans include diversifying monetization programs, such as the Clip Incentive Program.
A Naver representative mentioned, “Internally, we are preparing to diversify monetization programs, including the Clip Incentive Program,” adding, “The Clip Incentive Program was beta-tested last year for feed and post types, and we plan to officially launch it within the year.”
