Korean fintech company Finda has hired its first-ever chief product officer (CPO) as it pushes to reinvent its financial products with artificial intelligence (AI) and data, and to expand its banking-as-a-service (BaaS) business.
Ahn is a fintech veteran with 20 years of experience across commerce, internet-only banking, financial platforms and blockchain. His background spans financial service planning, platform development, business model discovery, and organizational and service operations. He was involved in the launch of several of Korea's leading fintech services, including Naver Pay, Toss Bank and Daangn Pay.
As an opening member of the Naver Pay team, he helped plan its payment service and fraud detection system (FDS). At Toss Bank, he designed core financial products, including account opening, FDS, anti-money laundering (AML) and authentication systems.
He later led Daangn Pay as head of the entity, growing the service to more than 9 million users and monthly transaction volume of about 100 billion KRW. He also guided the “Daangn Money Account” to designation as an Innovative Financial Service, a regulatory status granted to selected fintech offerings.
Most recently, as vice president at Nexus, he oversaw a dedicated stablecoin unit that handled blockchain-based global game payments and commerce. Nexus built “CROSS Shop,” which lets game publishers sell in-game items and other goods directly to global users, along with an integrated payment infrastructure called “CROSS Pay.” Together they extended a payment system that combines stablecoins with conventional electronic payments to more than 200 countries.
Ahn led the build-out and expansion of the stablecoin payment system, which has processed cumulative stablecoin payments of about $800,000.
Drawing on his experience with financial platforms and global payment infrastructure, Finda plans to move beyond its existing loan comparison service and ramp up its BaaS business, built around AI agents.
For the BaaS business, Finda is working with AI companies to build AI models and agents specialized for financial and banking systems and mobile financial platforms. The aim is to let financial institutions design and run financial services using Finda's financial data, platform technology and AI agents, without having to develop every function themselves.
The financial data Finda has accumulated through its loan comparison service will also be used to upgrade financial services across the full customer journey, from product discovery to application, loan execution and post-loan management.
“Building on our financial data and AI capabilities, we will transform Finda into an AI-agent-based BaaS company,” Ahn said. “We will deliver a new kind of financial infrastructure that lets anyone build and operate financial services easily and quickly.”
