Samsung Electronics will supply AI-enabled home appliances and business-to-business integrated management solutions for a mixed-use development project in the Philippines.
The company said on Sep. 17 that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with property developer DH Plus for the Grants Forest Park development in Cebu, Philippines. Under the agreement, Samsung will provide AI appliances along with its SmartThings Pro and b.IoT business solutions.
Grants Forest Park is a premium mixed-use complex planned around AIoT—artificial intelligence of things—technology. Targeted for completion in 2030, the project will occupy a site of roughly 66,000 square meters and include three residential towers, a hotel tower and private villas. Commercial facilities and an international school are also planned.
Samsung will build customized AI Home environments across the residential facilities by connecting its AI appliances through SmartThings. Products including TVs, air conditioners, refrigerators and washing machines are expected to be installed in both the residences and hotel.
To improve operational efficiency across the complex, Samsung will deploy SmartThings Pro, its B2B platform for connected-device management and integrated control. Residents and hotel guests will be able to manage in-room devices through a single SmartThings login. Facility managers will be able to monitor equipment status remotely, reducing the need for on-site inspections.
Samsung's b.IoT building-management solution will be used to oversee shared spaces and complex-wide infrastructure. The platform integrates the control of HVAC, lighting and power systems, while energy-management algorithms are designed to improve operational efficiency. Connected with SmartThings Pro, b.IoT can also analyze electricity consumption and utility charges for individual residential units.
Samsung plans to extend b.IoT to the project's commercial spaces, hotel and international school. Using digital twin technology, the system will monitor the status of key equipment and help predict maintenance needs. AI agents will provide integrated monitoring and control of HVAC, lighting, power and security systems.
The agreement is viewed as a signal that Samsung is stepping up its push into Southeast Asia's B2B integrated-operations market. The project is notable because it applies a unified solution spanning residential and commercial spaces to an actual property development, potentially strengthening Samsung's prospects for similar projects in the region.
