Bentley Motors has officially unveiled its first-ever all-electric vehicle, the Torcal, marking its Asian premiere in South Korea. The British ultra-luxury marque hosted the regional debut in Seoul to commemorate the 20th anniversary of its official entry into the Korean market.
The premiere drew top leadership from the Crewe headquarters, including Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, Chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors, alongside Christophe Georges, Global Director of Sales and Marketing; Robin Page, Director of Design; and Dave Hayter, Regional Director for Asia-Pacific. Their collective presence underscored Bentley's commitment to spearheading the ultra-luxury segment in the electric era.
The newly unveiled Torcal joins Bentley's storied portfolio as its fourth core model line, standing alongside the Continental GT, Flying Spur, and Bentayga. For the South Korean market, the electric grand tourer will be available in two variants: the Torcal and the performance-oriented Torcal S.
In terms of performance, the standard Torcal produces a maximum output of 821 PS (604 kW / 810 bhp) and 121.7 kg·m (1,194 Nm) of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. The Torcal S pushes performance even further: with launch control engaged, it unleashes 888 PS (653 kW / 876 bhp) and peak torque of 137.7 kg·m (1,350 Nm), lowering the 0-100 km/h sprint to just 2.9 seconds. Top speeds are electronically limited to 250 km/h and 260 km/h, respectively.
Under the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP), the Torcal achieves an estimated driving range of up to 600 km on a single charge. Equipped with an 800V architecture and 400 kW DC fast-charging capability, the battery can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 16 minutes. Bentley provides a 10-year or 258,000 km warranty for the high-voltage battery system. Specific technical details for the Korean market may vary pending domestic homologation and certification.
Bentley Motors Korea opened order books on the day of the premiere. Pricing starts from KRW330,000,000 for both the Torcal and Torcal S. Initial customer deliveries are slated to begin in late 2027.
“For 107 years, Bentley has crafted motor cars defined by breathtaking performance, peerless comfort, exquisite British craftsmanship with the finest natural materials, and soulful acoustic character,” said Frank-Steffen Walliser, Chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors. “The new Torcal sets an extraordinary benchmark across every defining dimension.”
The Torcal is expected to engage in fierce competition within the domestic high-end electric vehicle space against rivals from Genesis, Ferrari, and Lamborghini. These luxury automakers are aggressively accelerating the electrification of their flagship SUV portfolios, introducing models such as the Genesis GV90 EV, the Ferrari Luce EV, and the Lamborghini Urus SE Performante plug-in hybrid.
