Samsung Electronics has partnered with SPACE FACTORY(a.k.a GONGGAN Architecture) to launch the Samsung AI Modular Home, entering the single-family modular housing market with homes equipped with AI-powered appliances and smart home devices.
The Samsung AI Modular Home not only offers the construction convenience and consistent quality associated with modular housing, but is also delivered with Samsung appliances and solutions pre-installed and registered during the factory manufacturing stage.
Depending on the layout and intended use of the space, customers can choose from AI-powered appliances such as air conditioners, heat pump boilers, refrigerators, and TVs, as well as more than 20 SmartThings-compatible devices, including smart lighting, home cameras, and door cameras.
As a result, homeowners can begin using AI appliances and smart home solutions immediately upon moving in, without the complicated process of purchasing appliances separately and setting up a home IoT network.
This significantly reduces the time and cost associated with purchasing and installing products while enabling a convenient AI-powered home lifestyle regardless of location.
Building on its collaboration with SPACE FACTORY in the single-family housing sector, Samsung plans to expand AI Modular Home applications to mid-rise buildings of four stories or more in the future. The company also aims to develop optimized AI home solutions for a wide range of housing types and building structures.
Yang Hye-soon, Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Digital Appliances (DA) Division, said, “Through our collaboration with SPACE FACTORY, we are introducing modular AI homes equipped with AI appliances and solutions from the planning and construction stages. Going forward, we will continue to propose differentiated lifestyles that transcend the limitations of residential spaces by combining the innovation of modular construction with Samsung's unique AI home solutions.”
Samsung Electronics and SPACE FACTORY have also opened a jointly planned and developed Samsung AI Modular Home showroom in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province.
The showroom recreates real residential environments by integrating Samsung's AI appliances and SmartThings-based AI home solutions into SPACE FACTORY's modular wooden homes. It consists of two model homes measuring 330㎡ and 66㎡.
Customers interested in purchasing a home can choose from a variety of sizes, including 33㎡, 99㎡, and 132㎡, depending on their lifestyle needs and site conditions.
