Anthropic is expected to surpass $65 billion in annual revenue ahead of its initial public offering (IPO), according to recent projections.
On the 18th (local time), Bloomberg reported that Anthropic's annualized revenue run rate exceeded $65 billion as of the end of July, based on its short-term performance. This marks a more than sevenfold increase compared to the end of last year.
Anonymous sources revealed that the figure was disclosed during regular performance reports to major investors.
The rapid revenue growth is accelerating Anthropic's IPO plans. Both Anthropic and OpenAI have submitted confidential filings for their IPOs, with market consensus suggesting Anthropic will list before OpenAI.
Anthropic has gained attention for its AI tools, such as coding agents, which simplify complex tasks and workflows. The company surpassed $9 billion in annual revenue in 2025 and recorded $47 billion in May of this year.
According to data obtained by Bloomberg, Anthropic's preliminary second-quarter revenue exceeded $11.5 billion, a roughly 15-fold surge from $787 million in the same period last year. Adjusted operating profit is also estimated to have turned positive.
Anthropic has appointed Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs as lead underwriters for its IPO, with JPMorgan Chase reportedly participating in the transaction. Following recent fundraising, Anthropic's valuation is estimated at $965 billion, ranking among the highest for private companies.
Meanwhile, OpenAI's annual revenue trend has also surpassed $40 billion recently, but Bloomberg added that the measurement methods for the two companies' trends may differ. It was reported that OpenAI, while pursuing an IPO, has discussed listing-related engagements with Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, and JPMorgan.
