Hyundai Motor Group has started selling its next-generation mobile robot platform 'MobED (Mobile Eccentric Droid),' which comes in two models: MobED Basic and MobED Pro.
Hyundai Motor Group Robotics Lab officially unveiled MobED's key specifications on its website and launched sales, introducing a service for business customers to input purchase quantities and delivery information.
This marks six months since the company announced its sales plan in March by launching the 'MobED Alliance.'
MobED measures 75 cm (width) x 115 cm (length) x 65 cm (height) and can travel at a maximum speed of 10 km/h. In autonomous driving mode, it moves at 0.3 m/s and can overcome obstacles up to 200 mm high. A single charge allows operation for over four hours.
MobED Pro is the advanced upper-tier model, applying AI-based autonomous driving technology to the base model, MobED Basic.
The Mobed Pro is equipped with AI autonomous driving technology, 2 LiDARs, 8 radars, and 3 depth cameras to detect indoor and outdoor obstacles. The depth cameras are specialized cameras that emit infrared light to identify the shape, size, and distance of objects, enabling precise recognition and analysis of surrounding objects. Additionally, the Mobed Pro is equipped with a GNSS antenna to measure current location and movement information.
The price of the Mobed Basic is observed to be around 50 million KRW.
