
Tesla recorded the highest import car sales last month, maintaining the top position for six consecutive months.
According to the Korea Import Motor Vehicle Association (KAIDA), Tesla sold 10,237 units in July, accounting for 33% of total import car sales for the month.
BMW (6,533 units), Mercedes-Benz (3,959 units), BYD (2,846 units), and Lexus (1,474 units) followed.
Toyota (1,340 units), Volvo (958 units), Audi (935 units), Porsche (635 units), and MINI (632 units) completed the top 10.
The top-selling import car models in July were △ Tesla Model Y Premium (6,612 units) △ Tesla Model Y Premium Long Range (2,092 units) △ Tesla Model 3 Premium Long Range (1,239 units)
By fuel type, electric vehicles (15,428 units, 49.8%) and hybrids (12,840 units, 41.5%) dominated. Gasoline and diesel vehicles accounted for 2,514 units (8.1%) and 194 units (0.6%), respectively.
Total import passenger car sales in July were 30,976 units—a decrease of 18.6% from June's 38,059 units but an increase of 14.3% compared to the same period last year (27,090 units).
Cumulative sales from January to July reached 215,008 units, up 30.1% from the same period last year (165,210 units).
