Samsung Electronics has established a FlaktGroup heating, ventilation and air conditioning, or HVAC, production line in India with an annual capacity of up to 6,500 units. The company plans to use the facility as a key manufacturing hub for the Asia-Pacific region as it expands into the global market for AI data centers.
Samsung held an opening ceremony for the new FlaktGroup production line in Pune, Maharashtra, on Aug. 12 local time.
Pune is a rapidly growing center for data centers and industrial infrastructure. Its proximity to the Port of Mumbai is also expected to improve supply-chain efficiency.
Together with Samsung's existing production facility in Noida, the new Pune line will serve as a key base for supplying HVAC solutions more quickly to customers in India and across the Asia-Pacific region.
The site covers 13,826 square meters, including its production line, offices and supporting facilities. Samsung began installing equipment earlier this year and established mass-production capacity in about six months. Once fully operational, the facility will be able to manufacture up to 6,500 HVAC units annually.
The Pune line will produce a range of FlaktGroup's core HVAC products, including air handling units, or AHUs; fan wall units, or FWUs; and computer room air handling, or CRAH, units.
“The opening of the Pune production line marks an important milestone in expanding HVAC supply beyond India and across the Asia-Pacific region,” said Chulki Kim, executive vice president and head of Samsung Electronics' Digital Appliances Business. “By combining Samsung's AI and platform technologies with FlaktGroup's HVAC capabilities, we will deliver the highest value to a broad range of customers, including AI data centers.”
